Revisit Those Pink Garden Tools...
Welcome Fall Back

It seems like just yesterday I was writing about spring and here it is fall already...

This is my favorite season of the year. The high heat of the summer is over and it's exhilarating to work out in the yard again. Gloves actually feel comfortable and with a bit of crispness in the air, preparing for the winter makes me feel as if I'm ahead of the game.

OK, that's enough with the philosophical stuff. What I'm writing about today is the idea of re-visiting the condition of your yard and garden tools as well as thinking about adding a tool or two to help with the fall yard work and build your tool inventory (at the same time).

After a long summer season, many of the tools you've been using might be in a bit of disrepair. Hopefully when you purchased those tools, you got yourself a good quality piece. However, maybe you didn't and now have to look at replacing it. Or maybe you did buy a good tool but it wore out do to misuse, an accident, or just lots and lots of heavy use. I encourage you to think about how you used your tools and if you need to replace any, get a tool that matches your needs.

Having the experience of using a specific tool, you might realize that your initial reasoning was incorrect and that hand tool was not the right one for the job. That's ok, it's happened to me many times. You've gained valuable experience and now know what tool you need for the work you want to perform. Get the correct tool and set the old one aside for some other use. Education is a great thing!!

As for adding to your tool box, reach back into your past experiences and think about what tools you wished you had to make the work easier, or that tool you saw a friend use that made yard chores seem effortless. You may have even borrowed a tool and now it's time to get one for yourself.

Winter will be here before we know it so take a few minutes to reflect and plan ahead.

Until next time, we (Shelly and myself) wish you a great autumn.

Pink Gardening Tools - Smart Garden Tool Choices

Spring is just around the corner and the gardening bug is in the air. In fact, many locations in the south and west are already starting to plant gardens and flower beds.

Most gals I know are very much into gardening. Some use gardening as a hobby or a recreational activity. And then there are a few like my daughter Shelly that use gardening as therapy. A great past time to reduce the stress of the day and to nurture that motherly instinct. Shelly prefers it over motherhood cause she says the plants don't talk back.

To help choosing good garden tools, I've added (with Shelly's help) another page to this site to showcase some of the great tools now available for women interested in gardening and other forms of yard work. The Pink Garden Tool page is a bit different from the other two pages here in that each image holds a selection of tools. Click on the image and you'll find a number of products that belong to that category or grouping.

I truly hope you find something you like and even more importantly - I hope you find a tool or two you'll love using to make your gardening project Blossom.
(Sorry, I couldn't resist the pun)

New - Tools For Women is Born

As a father of a young and beautiful daughter, I have always tried to instill a sense of self-reliance. Part of that education has been in the use and care of both hand and power tools.

Early on I realized that most tools were made for men and didn't fit a women's hand - or were too heavy to be used effectively. Fortunately, manufactures saw the problem with this and developed tools meant to address this situation.

This site augments that effort. By taking what I know about tools and coupling that with the needs of a woman, I believe I have put together a pretty good choice of tools any woman would be proud to own and use.

As time goes on, this blog with showcase tools, pass on tips, and talk about how a women can grow to be independent and self-reliant with regards to fixing stuff, putting together a project, and the use of tools.

Mankind, for the most part, is set apart from our mammal counterparts because we use tools. Unfortunately, the term Mankind has come to be dominated by men. This is wrong and I hope to make a point of it here.
